THREE RIVERS FERRET COUNCIL, INC. >
Upcoming Events
Meeting time and place have changed!
Meetings are from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm on the 3rd
SUNDAY of the EVERY MONTH, unless there is a holiday or show. Please
keep this time open to attend, and check this page for information on meeting
content. Directions to
the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mt. Oliver
are available here.
NOTE:
You may bring healthy ferrets to the meetings. However, you must
bring a mat or other floor covering to separate your ferrets from the
church's floor if they are in a playpen. This is the church's
condition for allowing us to bring ferrets into their basement, so
please help us be good tenants.
Sunday, February 21, 2010 — Ferret Bingo and Games —
Join us for fun ferrety games (for humans). Ferret Bingo, Name that
Ferret and more. We had so much fun last year, we are doing it again.
See how much you know and win cool prizes!
Sunday, March 28, 2010 — Sewing Workshop —
Lisa R. & others will teach us easy ways to make ferret bedding at
home. Bring some fleece or other suitable material and any design
ideas you might have. Lisa usually has some low-cost fleece to sell to
you. Please let Barb know if you have a working sewing machine you
could bring. **Please note date change due to AFA Ferret Show**
Sunday, April 18, 2010 — Ask Dr. Wagner! —
Back by popular demand. Dr. Robert Wagner, VMD will join us to answer
any question you have about ferret medical issues. Learn about the
newest treatments for adrenal disease. This is a must-not-miss
meeting! **Topic may be changed if conflicts with Dr. Wagner'
schedule.**
Sunday, May 16, 2010 — Ferret Medical 101 —
Jackie will share her knowledge on herbal treatments for ferrets. We
will also be making a file for your ferret if you don't have one
already — very handy for the vet! Learn about new treatments for
ferret diseases as well as emergency first-aid techniques that every
ferret owner should know.
Sunday, June 20, 2010 — Toy Workshop —
Come join us and make a “cracker box” maze for your
ferrets! It's easy, it's fun, and the ferrets love them. Cracker boxes
are perfect because they're long and thin. We'll be taping them
together to make a maze toy.
POSTPONED — Zoo Trip —
Join us for a trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo. We are planning a special
tour, however it has not been confirmed yet. Please see your meeting
notice for more information.
The zoo trip, previously scheduled for July, will be rescheduled
at a later (less hot) date.
Sunday, July 18, 2010 — Shelter Visit Day —
Come to the Hide-E-Hole Ferret Shelter (just down the street from the
church where we normally meet) to party, visit ferrets and maybe help
with ears & nails.
Sunday, August 15, 2010 — Legal Planning for Your Ferrets —
Worried about what will happen to your ferrets in case you are injured
or die? Make a special "will" and/or power of attorney to make
sure your wishes are upheld for your ferrets care. A notary public
will be on hand to make everything official. Please bring your
identification. Forms will be provided.

gift for their time.

to make it happen without going nuts!
Sunday, December 12, 2010 — Ferret Gift Exchange, Shelter Gift
Box Packaging & Holiday Party —
Ferrets bring gifts for each other to be distributed by Santa (valued
at $10). Food and drink are plentiful as always. The party is a great
way to unwind during the stressful Holiday season. An annual tradition
for 10 years now, the TRFC has gathered gifts donated by the membership
to send to shelters across the country for the holidays. **Please note
date change to give ample time for shipping of gift boxes to the
shelters.
